Introduction

0:00 Hi, this is Yu-Ning Liu. I am a GIS engineer at DeepWalk. In this video, I will walk you through how you can plan your data route prior to your data collection process.
0:15 So, when you go to our webapp you can navigate to the Collect section and the Plan page, where you can see a map which allows you to draw a line draw, a polygon or even uploading your map file to where your project is located, at which site you are going to collect the data, or at which specific area you are going through.
0:48 this data collection process. So use the pan tool to zoom and pan to the location you are focused on. In this I will just focus on, the Woodstock High School in Illinois.

Draw Plan Data

1:09 I will just get started to plan my sidewalk routes. That needs to So, one thing I can do, I can start to draw a line that represents the sidewalk I'm interested in.
1:24 So, for example, I can, single, left click and double click complete drawing this, that is part of my plan. I can also specify an area.
1:38 For example, I will just draw a polygon that represents the boundary of the Woodstock High School. It's going to be part of my scan.

Upload Plan Data

1:49 Additionally, you can upload GIS file to our Plan page so will have the sidewalk plan ready for use.
2:01 So right now, the GeoJSON is the only format that is supported on import. I have, prepared the sidewalk with the Woodstock High School datasets.
2:11 During the upload, you'll have two options. You can either overwrite the existing or add new features to the existing plans.
2:22 Since plan has already had plans in our map, I want to select the second option. Just to the file to the existing plan
2:35 to make sure the old plan is not overwritten, so it's your choice. After the upload is finished. You will be able to several, like the plans are now uploaded to your project.

Modify and Save Plan Data

2:52 I can do further modification. For example, I can hit shift and drag a rectangle to select those sidewalks that I am not interested in the data collection process.
3:06 So maybe that are to the south of the Forest Avenue is not, something that I need to do, anything I can remove the sidewalks.
3:17 And then maybe add back to this sidewalks. Always remember to save, changed once added sidewalk. Some features or modify some features on the map.
3:33 So once it's you can see, an overview of the plan length and the plan area, for your project. It will be ready to be populated on our DeepWalk's mobile application to increase efficiency and for your data during the data scanning and data collection.
